Job summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with a passion for Acute Medicine!

Ward A1 is a 38 bedded short stay medical ward works closely with the Emergency Department and the Assessment Unit. The department is dynamic and fast paced. There is a high number of admissions and discharges of patients every day helping to facilitate flow throughout the ED and AU. The fast pace is rewarding as every day is different and offers experience in a wide variety of acute medical conditions. The department is very well supported and has a number of staff that are highly knowledgeable to help your transition onto the ward, smooth.

You will be at the heart of everything we do, ensuring the patient receives the best possible care. In turn we will provide you with a friendly and supportive team as well as a full induction programme and an individual personal development plan to guide your career within your chosen role.

Main duties of the job

An opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse on Ward A1 short stay/MDU Cardiff and Vale UHB.

Applications are welcomed from qualified Level 1 Registered Nurses who have significant nursing experience and can demonstrate substantial knowledge within this field of expertise.

The post holder will be expected to ensure excellent standards of care are maintained and provide effective leadership to the nursing team in an environment which is complex and pressurised.

You will require excellent communication and clinical skills, significant evidence of CPD and show passion and enthusiasm for working in Medicine.
