Job summary

Applications are invited for a part-time medical practitioner to join the Welsh Gender Team (WGT) in Cardiff as a Gender Clinician, working 30 hours per week. Appropriate training and support will be provided according to the needs of the appointee.

Applicants should preferably either be on the GMC Specialist or GP Register and have two years' unsupervised practice (as a Consultant in a relevant specialty or as a GP) working with both physical and psychological health issues.

The basic salary range for this post is £34,941 per annum to £45,363 per annum for a 4-session commitment plus a further £21,337 per annum available in Commitment Awards.

Applicants must ensure they provide names and contact details of referees covering at least the last 3 years of their employment/training history in full. In addition, applicants who are currently or have most recently been employed as a substantive Consultant or as a Locum Consultant in post for more than 12 months must also provide the name of their Medical Director as an additional referee.

Main duties of the job

Clinical work (12 hours): Clinics, clinical administration, liaison with professions allied to the service, liaison with GP's and health professionals working for other organisations, multidisciplinary team meetings, clinical training and supervision. You will not be expected to be on-call within gender services.

Supporting professional activities (3 hours): Service development, teaching, research, educational supervision, continuing professional development, audit, management activity related to the post.
