Job summary
Applications are invited for a Consultant in Obstetrics based at University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, available from September 2023. Applicants should preferably either be on the Specialist Register or be a Specialist Registrar within three months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT / CESR(CP) at the time of interview. You will be able to take advantage of the excellent Consultant contract for Wales. The salary for this post is £87,354- £113,408. Consultants in Wales paid on one of the first three points of the substantive Consultant pay scale also receive a Wales recruitment incentive payment. Applicants must ensure they provide the names and contact details of referees covering at least the last three years of their employment/training history in full. Applicants who are currently or have most recently been employed as a substantive Consultant or as a Locum Consultant in post for more than 12 months must also provide the name of their Medical Director as an additional referee.
Main duties of the job
Cardiff and Vale UHB is committed to expanding resident Consultant cover of the obstetric service in the near future. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will be able to access excellent training and career development opportunities in the department. The post holder will be required to provide an on-call service as part of a rota.
The health board is recognised as a teaching centre of excellence in a wide range of clinical services. The department works closely with colleagues in Cardiff University's School of Medicine.
Although the post is full time consideration will be given to applicants who require flexible working arrangements.
