Job summary
An exciting job opportunity has arisen to join the Integrated Childrens Community Nursing Service (ICCNS) for Cardiff and The Vale UHB as a Special School Nurse. You will be joining the dedicated, hardworking team of Special School nurses that deliver high standard nursing care and support to children and young people attending Ty Gwyn and Ysgol Y Deri Special Schools. This full time post is term time only.
Main duties of the job
The successful post holder will be working in collaboration with the children, young people and their families/ carers and wider MDT across the health, social and education disciplines. Ty Gwyn and YYD support learners aged 3-19 years of age with a range of complex health needs including Autistic Spectrum Disorders.
Responsibilities of the special school nurse will include the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of high-quality care that promotes the physical and emotional health and wellbeing of all children and young people. You will have a good understanding and knowledge of the Special School Nursing Framework for Wales and the ALNET (Wales) Act 2018.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, adaptable, innovative and motivated individual who is a skilled team player able to demonstrate clinical excellence and up to date specialist knowledge, experience and understanding of children and young people with complex needs and disabilities. At ICCNS we pride ourselves on delivering high quality individualised care to our children and young people ensuring a holistic, person centred practice. The successful candidate will share this commitment and demonstrate the UHB's values and behaviours.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
