Specialist Occupational Therapist - Children and Young people

Job summary
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to work with young people and their families within the children and young people community OT team. This post is community based and offers a fantastic opportunity to work alongside families in their homes, Children centers and link with schools and other agencies. You will be part of a wider occupational therapy team which bridges acute, community, special school's and specialist services. This is a supportive, innovative and established team where regular supervision and training is provided.
Main duties of the job
To manage a defined caseload, using evidence based/client centred principles within physical and psychological interventions.
Provide assess, plan, implement and evaluate Occupational Therapy interventions with autonomy for children and young people.
To maintain clinical records in accordance with legal requirements and professional standards.
To deliver within the designated community pathways, collaborating and working alongside the multi-professional team and wider paediatric occupational therapists to plan and implement new systems of work to meet the needs of the population.
To support and supervise healthcare support workers and students, ensuring the maintenance of clinical standards.
To work in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team and with voluntary organisations, local authority and other appropriate health and social care sectors to negotiate care provision across the primary/secondary care interface
To contribute to the development of the service including reviewing service pathways and providing training and facilitating education session.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
