Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Capital, Estates & Facilities Department at Cardiff & Vale University Health Board as a Lift & Risk Engineer.We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic lift engineering individuals to support the continual service provision of one of the largest Health Boards in Wales.The department is going through an exciting time of Service Improvement to increase the support and enhance the patient experience ensuring the department is fit for the future.We are looking to recruit someone who will ensure that we will excel in providing a safe, organised and highly efficient service, a person who can be innovative in their thinking and have the ability to make decisions for themselves, someone who can develop and support the service improvements of the department ensuring we are fit for the future.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for managing and monitoring effectively the stock of passenger and goods lifts across the UHB sites. Ensuring compliance, servicing, inspections and repairs are managed to give reliability and provide a lift service of the highest expectations and standard.Managing risk for the wider Estate functions through maintaining a risk register and conducting assessments in conjunction with others is essential. The role also requires managing a training register for the department and a staff development programme.This key role is to also ensure the effective management of apprentices through their training programmes and its monitoring. Ensuring support and on-site training, college and work placements are completed to the highest standards.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
