Trent Foundation School - Foundation Training Programme Director - Psychiatry
As Foundation Training Programme Director - Psychiatry, you will be responsible for coordinating the training across the Trent Foundation School. You will ensure that national standards, determined by Royal Colleges, the GMC and NHSE are implemented locally.
Applicants must be currently working within the Trent Foundation School region of the East Midlands area at consultant level or equivalent in the specialty of Psychiatry / Mental Health. Experience within the specialty at consultant level is essential as is considerable experience of working with learners or doctors in training in an educational context.
Main duties of the job
The Foundation Training Programme Director for Psychiatry (FTPD) is responsible for the quality, monitoring, supervision and development/delivery of the Foundation Programme placements within the Mental Health Trusts across the Trent Foundation School region and will normally be the named FTPD for a small cohort of trainees. The FTPD will lead on the delivery of Psychiatry Simulation training for the Trent Foundation School.
The FTPD will work with the local lead educators to ensure that each Mental Health placement of the programme meets the NHS England (NHSE) standard for training and that each trainee is able to access a comprehensive range of experiences which will enable them to gain the competences necessary for full registration and completion of foundation training.
You will work with theFoundation School Directorto produce doctors who will strive for the highest standards of patient-centred care and commit themselves to a lifetime of professional development.
