The B3 Medicines Data Information Officer is an established role within the Medicines Data team and currently due to the nature of the work this role needs to be office based working from Bridge House, Newcastle.

With a keen eye for detail you will collate, analyse, and interpret data quickly and accurately to ensure the quality of the data that we produce and supply. You will be expected to liaise internally & externally with pharmaceutical suppliers, Pharmacy Contractors, DHSC and other members of the Medicines Data team.

As a part of you supporting statement, we would like you to answer the following questions:

1) Tell us about a time you have managed large volumes of repetitive data inputting while ensuring accuracy and consistency?

2) Describe a situation where you had to contact a customer to resolve an issue or provide important information?

3) Describe a time when you had multiple tasks competing for your attention and tight deadlines to meet?

Main duties of the job

  • Identifying and collecting product information from a variety of internal and external sources.
  • Examines data to assess whether all information required has been presented accurately.
  • Accurately recording data, updating databases, and amending information in accordance with set guidelines.
  • Communicating effectively via phone & email with suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors.
  • Liaising with NHSBSA internal departments, external contract holders and stakeholders such as DHSC & NHS Digital.
  • Working alongside and supporting the wider Medicines Data Team.

In this role, you are accountable for1. Identifying and collecting product information to enable the effective implementation of NHS reimbursement policy and to meet customer requirements.2. Pro-actively identifying and implementing more efficient and effective methods of working aimed at realising Medicines Data and Corporate efficiencies, ensuring that all activities are planned in accordance with changing priorities.3. Communicating effectively via phone, email with suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors in the collection of data to enable stringent deadlines to be achieved.4. Working on relevant computer system applications, accurately inputting, updating, and amending information in accordance with set procedures and ensuring that the information is handled appropriately and actioned fully.5. Examines data to assess whether all information required is available and takes appropriate action to obtain any further information required. 6. Liaising with NHSBSA departments and external contract holders such that the finished products are accurate and meet customer expectations. 7. Liaising with other areas within Medicines Data to ensure an efficient, effective, and accurate operation.8. Works to agreed performance and accuracy targets, manages own workload, and operates all services in line with agreements and policies, technical instructions and procedures and within agreed time scales.9. Assisting with training of other staff and with an explanation of working procedures to visitors and others as required.10. Responsible for the security of documents, information and equipment under their control and undertakes all duties with due regards to the terms of the GDPR11. Qualifications

Essential

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above (or equivalent) including Maths and English Language or can demonstrate equivalent work experience or further education training.

Desirable

  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a relevant discipline

  • Data validation, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Able to use word processing, spreadsheet, and database software where speed and accuracy are factors.
  • Accurate with the ability to prioritise own workload and work independently within established parameters.
