Job summary
Join the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) in a new pivotal leadership role,leading the Digital Delivery Centre, shape and deliver a complex agenda including delivery management, user centred design, software and cloud engineering and solution design areas.
Our Digital Delivery Centre is the engine room running our digital products and services. With teams working on some of the NHS's largest national systems including NHS Pensions and NHS Jobs, ensuring that capacity and capability is fit now and the future.
You'll be responsible for robust delivery governance, adhering to internal and national delivery approaches including Government Service Design standards. Digitising services through leading-edge technology to deliver taxpayer value and huge NHS savings that can be reinvested in front-line care.
We're committed to being a flexible employer and are currently hybrid working. The office base for this role is Newcastle upon Tyne and we ask for flexibility to attend the office for in-person collaboration multiple times a week.
Interviews will take place in Newcastle on 8th & 9th July.

Main duties of the job
As a senior leader and member of NHSBSA Leadership Team, reporting into the Chief DDaT Officer, you'll deliver sustainable transformation, harnessing the benefits of providing national at scale services.

Responsible for DDaT professions in User Centred Design, Software Engineering, Solution Design/Architecture, Cloud Engineering and Delivery Management, you'll develop and maintain strategies to drive professional excellence including compliance with government professional standards.

Ensure delivery platforms and processes are fit for purpose, working with suppliers to ensure new system requirements are delivered to standards.

Embed a strong service design culture focused on user experience, accessibility, and inclusion. Lead on creating a culture of user need led delivery centred around UCD principles.

Strategic alignment of service delivery, workforce planning and operational excellence to embed a culture value add and efficiency. Champion continuous improvement and innovation to enhance service impact, overseeing governance, risk, and compliance with a strategic and ethical lens, balancing ambition with accountability.

Develop service insight and complex data to evaluate and improve current operating model, whilst horizon scanning for future opportunities.

Lead highly complex change and transformation plans, navigating sensitive environments.
