Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a People Safety and Safeguarding Lead to join us at the NHSBSA. The safety and safeguarding of our colleagues is a key priority, and this role will lead a new strategic approach to these areas.
We are looking for someone who will bring innovative and contemporary ideas to create a new approach to people safety issues which meets the changing risks we face and creates a culture where safety is everyone's responsibility. With experience of leading multi-disciplinary teams, they will lead programmes spanning Health, Safety, Psychological Risk, Critical Incident Support, and Safeguarding for colleagues and customers. As a change champion for safety and safeguarding they will embed these in our culture and ways of working. If you have demonstrable experience of creating safeguarding and safety strategies and are excited about leading meaningful change we would love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job
As People Safety and Safeguarding Lead, you will lead the development of a new strategic approach to Health, Safety and Safeguarding, creating new strategies to ensure they are fit for purpose in a hybrid workplace model and enable our people to be safe and at their best, support us to attract and retain our colleagues, and are in line with our values to deliver our People and business strategies.
You will create a culture where safety and safeguarding are the responsibility of all colleagues in effectively managing risk and ensuring compliance with legal requirements, whilst protecting the health and wellbeing of our colleagues and customers. You will lead the development of the organisation approach to psychological safety of colleagues, including the implementation of structured professional support, critical incident support, and reflective practice.
Working collaboratively across the business to enable colleague understanding and delivery of robust safety and safeguarding practices in all business areas, you will ensure that robust multi-agency arrangements are in place to protect vulnerable colleagues and customers of our services.
You will set the vision for and lead the team, enabling them to develop and grow their confidence and capabilities through an inclusive and compassionate leadership approach.
