Job summary

We are looking for a Cyber Security Support Analyst to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to support our people ensuring the security of our network infrastructure and information systems, while enabling open and modern secure digital services.

Working in the CyberSecurity Operations Team, you will actively monitor & review security alerts and security tooling information, to ensure the security of NHSBSA infrastructure and information systems, maintaining knowledge of our information security principles and practices ensuring timely security support is provided to meet business needs.

You will assist with maintaining the organisationsCyberSecurity Operations functions supporting theteam manager in developing and supporting a range of products andservices, includingproactively assessing and investigating potential items of risk and of vulnerabilities in the network.

You will be an active member of the DDAT department based in Newcastle, on a hybrid working model where we all come together for 1 or 2 days per week.

Main duties of the job

  1. Provide support for Security systems, using your initiative to ensure the security, availability and stability of NHSBSA services.

  2. Analysing technical, security and statistical data and resolving complex issues when security is impaired, escalating when necessary.

  3. Identify through research and investigation, security threats providing analysis and evaluation in a timely manner.

  4. Working collaboratively with colleagues in the Information security function conduct risk assessments.

  5. Working collaboratively with Security architects, network specialists and 3rd party providers develop and improve network security.

  6. Develop knowledge and systems related to Cryptographic services.

  1. Provide support for Security systems, using your initiative to ensure the security, availability and stability of NHSBSA services.

  2. Analysing technical, security and statistical data and resolving complex issues when security is impaired, escalating when necessary.

  2. Maintain an understanding and be aware of developments in the cyber security threat landscape.

  3. Work within NHSBSAs policies, standing orders, financial regulations, and legislative requirements.

  4. Work collaboratively with colleagues and customers to deliver high-quality secure technology services.

  5. Create and maintain operating instructions, user guides and reference/ training material to be used by a technical and non-technical audience.

  6. Complete own assigned tasks to a high quality and within agreed timelines. Pro-actively proposing improvements to enhance own and business areas. Escalating issues at appropriate times.

  7. Actively identify your development and training needs within this specialism to maintain and develop your skills in Cyber Security to meet the requirements of the business. Mentored by more experienced colleagues in other Cyber Security tasks to extend your skills, experience, and knowledge.
