Job summary
There is now an opportunity to join the NHS ESR regional teams supporting organisations across England but initially in the North. You will be working with NHS organisations in the specified regions to support them to optimise how they use ESR, make real cost savings, improve efficiency and productivity, and support the delivery of the NHS People Plan and local workforce strategy.
The role requires an ambitious and motivated individual with demonstrable ESR operational and implementation experience with particular focus on Portal, Self Service HR and ESR Learning Management. The role also requires an individual that can demonstrate strong project management and implementation skills along with exceptional knowledge of the broader ESR solution and its associated benefits.
Working as part of the regional team, responsible to the ESR Senior Account Manager for your allocated region, you will work alongside the ESR Functional Account Managers to provide hands on support and guidance to organisations in their implementation and roll-out of the full ESR solution.
Excellent functional knowledge of the ESR solution and communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential to joining a national service team that is passionate about helping the NHS get the most from ESR.
Main duties of the job
You will be able to demonstrate these essential skills and knowledge:
- Working alongside organisations operational teams to mobilise ESR projects to optimise their use of ESR, particularly within the Self-Service HR and ESR OLM functionality.
- Guide and support operational teams in all areas of ESR functionality to ensure ESR methodology and functionality is adopted in line with their project plans.
- Provide advice on how organisations can engage their workforce and promote the ESR solution and its benefits to support positive process and cultural change.
- Support organisations in having robust project plans in place to outline how and when they intend to implement and optimise ESR functionality.
- Taking an active role in regional special interest groups to ensure that organisations are briefed about new functionality and solution development.
- Developing and sharing knowledge, ideas and information that further supports the regional activity to drive optimisation of ESR functionality.
- Participate in the development of project management resources and operational tools to aid organisations in mobilisation and delivery of ESR projects.
- The role will be home based but includes travel to support organisations and to NHSBSA sites plus other venues on a regular basis for meetings, as necessary.

The Implementation Advisor will work as part of a regional Communications and Engagement team and will provide hands on support and guidance to organisations in their implementation and roll-out of the full ESR solution.
The post holder will have a professional line of accountability to Development and Operations to ensure that up to date knowledge of ESR development and functionality is maintained.
In this role, you are accountable for:
Supporting the delivery of ESR implementations across the allocated region; providing project support and materials, advice, and guidance to enable NHS organisations to implement full ESR functionality;
Ensuring organisations have robust project plans in place to outline how and when they intend to implement ESR functionality;
Taking an active role in regional special interest groups to ensure that organisations are briefed about new functionality and solution development;
Developing and sharing knowledge, ideas and information that further supports the regional activity to drive uptake of ESR functionality;
Ensuring that familiarisation of ESR functionality is delivered in the most appropriate manner to ensure greater user understanding;
Providing progress reports and monitoring information to the regional Communications and Engagement team, wider ESR programme team, and NHS senior management team;
Being a proactive member of the ESR Team contributing at regular team meetings
