Main duties of the job
As our new Digital, Data & Technology Strategy Lead, you'll lead on the development and implementation of our directorate strategy and the organisation's data strategy. You'll have great communication and engagement skills, developing key relationships and networks both internal and external to the NHSBSA.
You will lead and facilitate the directorate's business planning activities working to ensure strategic alignment; and develop and refresh our annual DDaT Business Plan. You will also lead on strategic data enablement activities to support the organisation to be data driven.
You'll do this by leading a team of Digital, Data & Technology Strategy Partners, fostering a collaborative and innovative working environment promoting professional growth and development. You'll also be responsible for managing the teams' budget and headcount.

Team Leadership & Development
- Leading the development of the team, including objectives, resourcing, skills, and training to positively drive the service forward, improve performance and ensure success of the team.
- Recruiting, leading, and coaching team members, including all personal and professional development, and establishing career pathways to train and develop future DDaT professionals.
- Responsible for managing a team of DDaT Strategy Partners to deliver relevant Digital, Data and Technology strategies; ensuring targets and performance standards are maintained.
- Supporting and deputising for the Head of DDaT Strategy & Data Management

Strategy Development & Business Planning
- Lead on the planning, development, and monitoring of key Digital, Data & Technology strategies, that includes championing ways of working required to drive adoption of across the NHSBSA. This includes leading the development and maintenance of a fit for purpose DDaT Strategy and NHSBSA Data Strategy.
- Being future focused by horizon scanning, remain abreast of strategic developments and best practices within the area of DDaT, providing senior leadership colleagues with advice regarding any opportunities and/or impact for our business strategy.
- Develop appropriate DDaT strategic measures to monitor progress against our strategic goals and objectives.
- Collaborating with colleagues to implement strategic measures, ensuring that they are visible to relevant stakeholders.
- Lead and facilitate DDaT business planning activities working to ensure strategic alignment; and develop and refresh our annual DDaT Business Plan.
- Contribute to and prepare proposals for change including producing necessary estimates, mandates, and business cases within the relevant departments. Understanding key cost drivers and benefits for these proposals.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to identify opportunities for leveraging technology and data to enhance business performance.

- Drives and encourages a data driven culture, collaboration, and partnership across the NHSBSA. Leads and influences colleagues across the business by embedding data and evidence in decision making.

- Develops key relationships with Directors, Heads of Service, Senior Managers, and DDaT Leaders as well as developing relationships with key stakeholders external to the NHSBSA.
- Collaborating with Senior Managers, communities of practice, and the wider NHS to gain access to resources and co-ordinate work to deliver best practice and projects.
- Building active internal and external networks with the NHS and wider organisations, to share working practices and build innovative ideas, with potential for future partnership working.
