Job summary

Main duties of the job
The Payroll, Pensions, and Expenses Officer manages a section of monthly payrolls, ensuring accurate and timely staff payments. Responsibilities include maintaining payroll records, performing complex calculations, and ensuring compliance with payroll practices and legislation. The role involves handling staff queries, managing pension entitlements via the Pensions Online system, and providing cover for absent colleagues. Duties include preparing documentation, calculating leave entitlements, and ensuring expense claims are authorized. The post-holder must stay updated on NHS pay regulations, manage temporary injury benefits, and process payments for redundancy or early retirement, and contribute to payroll system improvements and maintain data security compliance.
