NHS Workforce Recruitment Services manages the national NHS Jobs and NHS Volunteering services. The Training and Support Manager plays a key role and this is an exciting opportunity to help shape our recruitment services.
You will work alongside our existing Training and Support Manager. You will provide clear leadership and demonstrate excellent collaboration skills. You will ensure that our customers, receive high quality products to support usage of the recruitment systems and have the ability to easily contact us for help and support. Your role is fundamental to achieving uptake of our recruitment services which is a key success measure.
You should have a proven track record in this field and be comfortable both in designing and managing through others. You will be able to show that you are in touch with industry best practice and continually exploring innovative solutions.
This role is available for a 12 month period as a fixed term or secondment opportunity. You will need agreement to a secondment from your existing organisation.

Main duties of the job
The Training and Support Manager is responsible for the establishment and management of the effective training, support, and on-boarding products within the NHS Workforce Recruitment Services for NHS Jobs, NHS Volunteering services and any other recruitment services. The role will work closely with the digital delivery and service delivery teams. You will have a leading role in ensuring that the contact routes and training for the service is effective and that a full training and support strategy is delivered.
Working in partnership with subject matter experts to design, resource, deliver and evaluate solutions to meet the training and learning requirements of customers and organisations. This may involve sourcing the correct tools, products, and resources to deliver the best solutions, demonstrating a value for money approach. An effective balance of delivery and managing through others will be central to the success of this role.
You will be responsible for ensuring there is a quality on-boarding process for organisations using our recruitment services, related to training and support elements and will contribute to a great user experience and encourage user adoption and maintain this adoption going forward.

- Full ownership and responsibility for the strategy and delivery of the training and support model for the our recruitment services, right through from project stage leading into the live service onwards.
- Ensure this strategy is appropriate to balance the needs of customers and organisations as well as national NHS and strategy. Ensuring this strategy evolves with the service need as the service and systems mature.
- Working with the senior management team to align with the wider objectives of the development of our recruitment services. This will include measurable benefits that contribute to the uptake of the service across NHS organisations.
- To plan, design and deliver a programme of learning and support initiatives which meet and reflect customer and business requirements using multi-media and technology-based learning tools. Demonstrating an appropriate and value for money approach to sourcing all relevant products and solutions.
- To provide a professional and expert service to customers to enable them to maximise the usage and adoption of our recruitment services. This may include identification of bespoke arrangements above and beyond the standard approach and what appropriate commercial model should support that.
- Undertake quality assurance and customer satisfaction surveys specifically around training and support products. Ensure that all products are appropriately documented, and version controlled.
- Analysis of service usage and feedback to clearly establish a detailed understanding of how the service is meeting user needs and identifying and implementing corrective solutions in a timely fashion.
- Ensure that all training and support service activity is aligned and co-ordinated with the digital delivery, product and service teams to provide a joined up training and support approach.
- You will agree priorities working closely with the Product Owner and Service Owner teams bringing expertise and advice that inform these decisions.
- Building on your own current networks and creating new ones so that you are aware of industry trends and best practice models so that the our recruitment services utilise the most appropriate and innovate solutions, accepting responsibility for self-developing in line with these.
- Ensure delivery of training and support is appropriate and in line with a national recruitment system with a high degree of self-service products at the core. Being able to balance this and identifying where different interventions are required.
- Identification of resource models to deliver the support to customers for our services. This resource model and approach should demonstrate a flexible approach reflecting the needs of developing services.
- Responsible for line management of roles within the structure which will evolve over time.
- Identification of what support is needed to on-board organisations to our services including the design of a standard on-boarding support approach.
- Working closely with the service managers to ensure a robust and appropriate on-boarding model is in place that will create a good experience for users moving to our recruitment services.
- Represent our recruitment services at regional and national events, where appropriate.
- To participate in wider organisational activities where own recognised strengths may be utilised (e.g., project management skills, training design and delivery). Ensure full participation if selected.
