Job summary

To participate in the accurate and timely production of information for initiatives that the Financial Transformation is undertaking which includes government reviews, long-term forecasting, benefits realisation, unit costing and benchmarking. You will help provide the organisation with advice and information that will assist them in decision making. To achieve this, a fundamental understanding of the operational issues and challenges of each service area will be required but this can be developed over time.

Main duties of the job

  1. Provide financial support to the production and analysis for the government reviews and enable the Financial Transformation team to develop robust commissions.
  2. Undertake variance analysis, desk top reviews and investigations for benchmarking and for financial benefit analysis.
  3. Provide user training for staff in other departments helping them understand our processes for unit costing, benchmarking, and financial benefit analysis.
  4. Using NHSBSA systems to collect data and build relationships with key users to ensure all processes are running at their optimum.
  5. Develop and maintain complex spreadsheets which monitor all progress in unit costing, benchmarking, and financial benefit analysis.
  6. Understanding funders expectations and keep in mind the end goal of delivering impact to our customers.
  7. Make suggestions on how to improve procedures and working practices and ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with NHSBSA SFI's and NHSBSA financial procedures.
  8. Assist the manager in analysing unit costing,benchmarking and financial benefits.
  9. Liaise closely with Finance team to ensure that systems and procedures are working to the optimum level.
  10. To make decisions within operational guidelines referring to Finance Transformation Manager.
  11. Assist members of the Financial Transformation team by performing ad-hoc duties.
  12. Attend relevant training courses.
  13. Responsible for the confidentiality of all information to which the post holder has access to.
