This role is designated as a permanent homeworker position. The post is restricted to the Welsh geographical footprint, and the successful candidate's main work address will be their home.
***The Welsh Government requires that the postholder lives within Wales. However, in line with current arrangements for the existing job-share partner, applicants who live just outside Wales but are within a reasonable commuting distance may also be considered.***
Main duties of the job
The Implementation Consultant isakey representative of NICE, working with senior stakeholders to support the uptake and adoption of NICE guidance and reduce unwarranted variation. This includes, but is not limited to:
Engaging with strategic stakeholders in Welsh Government, Health Boards and Health Networks to drive uptake and adoption of NICE guidance
Informing and advising senior commissioners, practitioners and decision makers on the use of NICE guidance
Building andmaintainingrelationships with key system partners and making decisions about areas of collaboration
Working with users of NICE and other system stakeholders toidentify, collate,interpretanddisseminatesystem intelligence to inform horizon scanning, prioritisation and guideline development
Engagement and collaboration with system partners
Accountability for the delivery of the system implementation programme
Raising the profile of NICE across Wales, including:
Providing briefings to the Welsh Government on the uptake of NICE guidance and new developments within NICE
Supporting andparticipatingin annual accountability reviews
Strategic engagement with key partner organisations across Wales
AdvisingNICE of changes and developments to policy and legislation which are relevant to NICE

The System Implementation Team sits within the Impact & Partnerships Directorate and works with the health and care system to drive uptake and adoption of NICE guidance. The team does this by working collaboratively with system stakeholders and strategic partners. The team operates at a strategic level with engagement at Board and senior professional and management level, with a focus on reducing unwarranted variation in the uptake of NICE guidance.
