Job summary

Here at The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) we are passionate about the work we do and proud of the impact we make. We strive for excellence and have an academic culture committed to producing high quality work. Not only that, but we also put your individual health and wellbeing at the forefront, offering you a great place to work, good benefits, and flexible arrangements, all within a supportive, friendly and inclusive environment.

You will be responsible for the programme management of evidence generation for early value assessment; this is an exciting role in an expanding area of the organisation. The team supports evidence generation activities around conditional recommendations for MedTech (early value assessments), and you will organise the team, plan for the future and work with key stakeholders to help deliver the evidence that NICE needs for decision making.

Main duties of the job

The main purpose of this role is to manage the evidence generation component of the Early Value Assessment (EVA) programme. This involves ensuring projects are delivered effectively, maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, and contributing to the development and implementation of policies and processes to support the evaluation of new technologies.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the programme management of early value assessment evidence generation projects, ensuring targets are met and managing team resources
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to EVA evidence generation and contribute to the wider policy function
  • Manage complex projects, including developing timelines, monitoring progress, and providing updates to stakeholders
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external stakeholders on complex and sensitive issues, including discussing technical aspects and challenging technology developers on their obligations
  • Represent the team internally and externally, including presenting at meetings and contributing to research publications and conferences
  • Oversee the planning and organisation of the team's work, including long-term strategy development, workload coordination, and risk evaluation
  • Contribute to the training and development of team members and engage in continuous personal and professional development

About us

The Managed Access team supports conditional recommendations from NICE, across both medicines and MedTech that provide opportunities for patients to access promising new treatments and technologies while further evidence is generated to address significant uncertainties.
