Main duties of the job

The postholder will be a qualified accountant (CCAB or CIMA), responsible for the provision of professional financial advice and support to budget holders in the organisation. The main duties of the job will be:

o To work alongside the Directors / Directorate Managers and their teams in identifying finance related issues and developing appropriate business focused interventions; developing the finance capability to support business planning as well as at tactical operational plans that sit alongside strategic plans.

o To be a finance expert, providing financial advice as required and promoting value for money with the use of resources in line with Managing Public Money guidance.

o To be a team player, employing strong communication, negotiation, influencing and presentation skills appropriate for a wide range of audiences and situations

o Regularly present and update on progress analysing, comparing and interpreting highly complex financial and performance data using skills, knowledge and judgement
