About us
The Medicines Evaluation Topic Delivery team is responsible for providing guidance to the NHS and patients on the clinical and cost effectiveness of technologies and their optimal position in clinical practice. Though recommendations are covered by a funding direction from the Secretary of State, our recommendations are not instructions to practitioners, but they are expected to take them into account and patients' access to what we recommend is guaranteed in the NHS Constitution. The Medicines Evaluation Directorate is mandated to evaluate all medicines that receive marketing authorisation in the UK, and its guidance therefore has significant impact on patients and the NHS.
Here at NICE we are passionate and proud of the work we do and the impact we make.
