Job summary

The interim Head of Content is an exciting development opportunity for a talented and experienced leader who has led transformation and continuous improvement in content operations, management and associated governance. They will be responsible for leading a team of 29, including content advisers, content designers and publishing system experts. They are also responsible for leading multidisciplinary teams across NICE to deliver high-quality, user-focused guidance content, aligned to the NICE content strategy and the Usable Guidance Product Strategy.

The postholder will work closely with the new Head of Product to deliver NICE's vision to provide a useable guidance product offering that makes it easier for practitioners, commissioners and providers to make the decisions they need. To achieve this, the interim Head of Content will set the strategic direction for the lifecycle of our guidance content. Managing it from creation to publication, and maintaining and improving in response to user needs and maximise the impact of NICE guidance using componentised content and digital products.

Main duties of the job

The interim Head of Content will set strategic direction, provide leadership and oversee all aspects of guidance content creation, management and strategy within NICE. They will lead the publishing team, working in partnership with the guidance producing functions, to enable the delivery of timely, high-quality guidance content creation and management. The postholder will successfully develop and lead high performing teams through the full content creation life cycle, to enable NICE to progress its vision to become a user focused, content enabled, product led organisation.

This is a 6 month role to transition the team to a new leadership structure after organisational change, creating the culture, operating model and operational management structures to enable a high performing team. The substantive Head of Content will be appointed through a recruitment process during this time.
