Alongside this, you'll use your experience of content design to support NICE's objective to make our guidance more useful, usable and used. To achieve this we are transforming how we work in the publishing team, enhancing our skills in using user insights and data to identify users' needs, and creating content to meet these needs.

You'll play a leading role in this transformation, working with colleagues across NICE, and providing training and support for the publishing team to drive improvements in our content.

Secondments are welcome for this fixed-term post, but you will need consent from your line manager before applying.

Main duties of the job

As part of the publishing team's senior management, contribute to our strategy for transforming the team to support new ways of working and a user-focused approach.

Provide positive leadership to a team of guidance content designers working on CHTE guidance, motivating them to take responsibility for their topics and supporting them through change and uncertainty.

Contribute to NICE's strategy to transform how NICE content is authored and published, taking responsibility for incorporating content design principles into guidance development, and working collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation.

Identify and build strong relationships with NICE guidance development teams, technical advisers and expert committees, influencing and collaborating with them to improve content quality, making sure it meets user needs and is accurate and consistent, in line with our content strategy. Challenge ideas and manage difficult conversations with those stakeholders.

Support the publishing team to develop skills in user research and analytics data to promote user-focused content design and provide quality assurance of our work in this area.

About us

The Publishing team has a key role in creating our guidance content and is responsible for managing, publishing and maintaining NICE's guidance and advice web pages. We work closely with teams across NICE at all stages of guidance development. Our team of 29 includes guidance content designers, content advisers and digital publishers who have lots of varied experience in producing high-quality and user-friendly content.

We can offer you a great place to work with good benefits, flexible working, and a supportive, friendly, and inclusive environment.
