Job summary

Do you want to play a key role in shaping NICE's programme of deliberative public engagement?

We have a vacancy for a Senior Public Engagement Analyst within the NICE Science Policy and Research team. The post-holder will manage NICE Listens (NICE's programme of deliberative public engagement) and will work on and oversee deliberative public engagement projects at different stages of development. Responsibilities include identifying future topics, literature reviewing, liaising with internal and external partners, and seeking approval from NICE's Executive Team for each project.

Main duties of the job

Reporting to the Senior Scientific Adviser, the Senior Public Engagement Analyst is responsible for:

  • Proactively working with teams across NICE to identify and prioritise topics requiring deliberative public engagement. This will require knowledge of NICE methods for guideline production and health technology evaluation and a knowledge of the wider context within which NICE works.
  • Designing NICE Listens projects, including developing briefs for Executive Team sign-off. This will require knowledge of best-practice methods for deliberative public engagement.
  • Analysing, interpreting and synthesising a wide range of complex quantitative and qualitative research evidence and data from a variety of sources.
  • Disseminating findings from deliberative public engagement and supporting implementation across NICE.
  • Ensuring research activities comply with Research Governance requirements.
  • Contributing to the wider work of the Science Policy and Research team, including: methods research, funding applications, science policy work and providing technical support to senior staff.
