Job summary

The post will provide strategic communications management for corporate projects and initiatives, identifying and working with appropriate colleagues from across the communications directorate to plan and implement multi-channel communications activities and campaigns. They will also build and manage relationships with counterparts in partner organisations to help deliver effective communications via their own communication channels.

The post holder will lead on the coordination of the directorate-wide strategic communications planning group to ensure the effective delivery, coordination and evaluation of communications campaigns and activity.

Their communications planning activities will identify opportunities that could enhance NICE's messaging as well as issues that could potentially damage the organisation's reputation. Working with colleagues, the postholder will plan and prepare actions to maximise opportunity and minimise risk.

Role can be based in either our Manchester (M1 4BT) or London office (E20 1JQ).

Main duties of the job

  • Provide an efficient, effective and high quality stakeholder communications service.
  • Manage a strategic communications planning calendar that identifies awareness weeks and other opportunities that can be used to amplify NICE's work
  • Work collaboratively across NICE and with system partners to ensure a co-ordinated approach to stakeholder communications.
  • Ensure key system partners and stakeholders receive clear and consistent messages and information from NICE and, as a result, are better informed with a view to achieving active support for NICE's priorities.
  • Develop communications strategies and plans, drawing in expertise and ideas from across the communications directorate. Ensure the plans are delivered successfully, on time and within budget, and evaluate their success.
  • Write clear and compelling key messages and narratives to underpin communications activities across a wide range of channels (including websites, social media, newsletters and stakeholder briefings).
  • Work with colleagues in guidance-producing, implementation and system engagement teams to ensure communications activities to support strategic priorities are planned and delivered in a timely way.

  • Significant experience of developing , implementing and evaluating multichannel communications campaigns using a campaign planning model such as the GCS Oasis model.
  • Significant experience of creating high quality and engaging content for a range of channels and platforms, including corporate documents, newsletters, websites, blogs and social media
  • Significant experience of stakeholder mapping and management in a communications team at a large, influential organisation.
  • Proven experience of bringing together matrix-style project groups of communications professionals from across different disciplines, to develop and deliver communications plans and strategies.

Desirable

  • Some budget management experience.
