Job summary

Contract type: fixed term contract - Current role is to provide support for the Interim AD for IT Infrastructure and Operations.

The Head of Infrastructure will be a key member of the IT Infrastructure and Operations team within the NICE Digital, Information and Technology directorate.

As the Head of Infrastructure, the post holder will have responsibility for the delivery of day-to-day IT Infrastructure management and support as well as networking and Infrastructure as service (IaaS). The postholder will also be responsible for leading and managing the delivery of key projects associated with the IT infrastructure and the IaaS environment. The post holder will deputise for the Associate Director of IT Infrastructure and Operations on a number of areas and as such will develop good working relationships with NHS bodies and the Department of Health and Social Care.

The post holder will work with third party providers to deliver support and solutions and will be responsible for supporting highly available services configured according to industry standards.

Main duties of the job

The role requires a balance of technical expertise gained through current, hands-on experience in developing systems, excellent interpersonal and management skills along with the ability to quickly develop strong working relationships in a complex environment. As the Head of Infrastructure, the post holder will carry out a wide range of activities, from devising code and dealing with operational matters to architectural design of systems. The post holder will manage the teams that are responsible for supporting the Infrastructure and IaaS teams.
