Job summary

The NHS Counter Fraud Authority (NHSCFA) is the national body responsible for all matters relating to the prevention, detection and investigation of economic crime across the NHS. Further information about our work and annual plan for delivering this is available on our website.

The Data & Analytics Lead manages a comprehensive Data Analysis service in support of all directorates of NHSCFA and external clients of the Information Analytics Unit. Lead key analytical work to prevent and detect fraud using data and ensure analytical insight and robust analytical reporting structures that support decision making are in place and appropriately managed. Manage an analytical team comprising of Data & Analysis Specialists, Senior Data Analysts & Data Analysts, ensuring delivery of the unit plan and support and delivery of strategic activity, and are responsible for the delivery of tasks and objectives to achieve the requirements of NHSCFA's business and strategic plan and unit plan delivery. Will also have a key role in delivering Service Improvement across the organisation. Fixed Term Contract until end of March 2025 with the possibility of extension pending funding.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for developing and leading a proactive analysis, at both strategic and tactical levels, to support the prioritisation and development of a diverse range of crime reduction activities in relation to the protection of NHS staff, patients, and resources.

Responsible for developing a data quality strategy and procedures to ensure effective delivery of robust and insightful reporting, visualisation, and proactive data analysis.

Contribution to the delivery of the above data strategy through chairing and overseeing the actions of the Data Strategy Group and corresponding Data Practitioners Forum subgroup in support of the NHSCFA's wider application of data.

Responsible for undertaking detailed programme planning, defining deliverables, success criteria, dependencies, change control and reporting compliance against the programme.

Specialist Knowledge

  • Excellent programme and project management skills, managing outcomes and delivering to deadlines without compromising performance across a multidisciplinary team.
  • High level of IT literacy with a good working knowledge of generic software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
