Job summary
The HFEA is the UK's independent regulator overseeing safe and
appropriate practice in fertility treatment and embryo research. We license and
monitor clinics carrying out IVF, donor insemination, and human embryo
research.
We are looking for a full-time IGRM Officer
to work within our small team on a fixed term 12-month basis. This team manages
the information governance and records management functions at the HFEA
including Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), Subject Access Requests
(SARs) and management of data breaches. It is also responsible for our
electronic document management system.
The
HFEAs office is at 2 Redman Place, Stratford, London. This post is offered as
your choice of either office based in which case (you need to attend the office
at least once per week) or home based (you cannot attend the office more than 3
times per month).

Main duties of the job
We are looking for someone who is
proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing competing priorities with a
methodical approach. You will need to be confident interpreting data protection
legislation and information governance best practice and applying it
pragmatically to real-world situations. The ideal candidate will take ownership
of their work, show initiative in resolving issues, and have a collaborative
attitude that supports cross-team engagement. Experience supporting DPIAs,
SARs, and managing records or information systems in a regulatory or public
sector environment would be particularly valuable.

office at least one day per week)or home based (in which case office attendance will be specified by
your line manager based on business need). Our office is in Stratford, east
London, in attractive new premises on the edge of the Olympic Park, alongside

The Information Governance and Records Officer will
be responsible for assisting in the development, and implementation of the
HFEAs information governance processes and policies, to make sure that we
store, manage and share information appropriately.
The postholder will provide expert support relating
to IG, Records Management and its application to the HFEA Act and the
Authoritys work. The postholder will make recommendations and assist
implementation of agreed approaches.
The Information Governance and Records Officer will
ensure our records management policies, process and procedures are robust and
effective. The postholder will have an important role in records management and
ensuring policies around retention and deletion are followed after we migrate
our electronic document management system to SharePoint.
