Our teams provide individualised care and support for people with learning disabilities, autistic people and people with physical disabilities living in their community. - Abell Gardens (SL6 6PS) - 37, 25, 22.5 hours (days)
- Brill House (SL6 3DU)- 32.5 hours (days) + 22.5 hours (days FTC)
- Allenby (SL6 5BF)- 25 hours (days)
- Winston Court (SL6 7RB)- 19 hours (nights)
- Catherine House (SL4 5FN) - 22.5 hours (days & sleep-ins)
- Float Support (community based) - 37, 20, 7 hours (days) + 20 hours (days FTC)
All FTC (fixed term contracts) are 12 months to cover maternity leave; alternative roles will be considered to either extend or offer permanent employment for suitable candidates.
Some of the roles will require candidates to have a full UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle.
Main duties of the job
Your role will be to support our customers in their day-to-day lives and could include assistance with personal care, managing medication, meal preparation and shopping, and supporting with emotional and physical wellbeing. Night roles will also include responsibility for the security of the building overnight, as well as cleaning and preparing the service for the next day.
We also provide support with life skills such as improving confidence, managing finances and being part of the local community to maintain important relationships.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
- Provide care and support to customers in accordance to care plans
- Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our customers
- Assisting with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting)
- Assist with meal preparation
- Support customers to access the community - appointments, shopping and socialising
- Recording keeping
- Reporting changes in health and behaviour
- Communicate with residents, families, colleagues and social care professionals
Full training will be provided for these roles - this will include a 7-day induction at our Head Office in Wokingham, online learning and shadowing established staff members.

We have over 50 services across the WBC and RBWM boroughs, supporting adults with learning disabilities to live independently, providing dementia and nursing care for older people and offering reablement services to help people return home from hospital.
