Job summary
As a Senior Supervising Social Worker, your primary responsibility is to manage a caseload of approved and registered foster carers. This involves providing dedicated support through regular visits, video conferencing, and telephone calls. Additionally, you will play a key role in the assessment process, conducting initial assessments for potential foster carers and presenting these assessments to the Fostering Panel.
Actively contributing to the recruitment, selection, and training of prospective foster carers, ensuring they are well-equipped for their role, you will be committed to maintaining high professional standards for the service. As a leader within the team, you will providesupervision to other Social Workers, embedding an environment of continuous development.
The role extends beyond the immediate team, requiring you to establish effective communications channels with internal and external colleagues to support effective practice. Additionally, ensuring the safeguardingof children and prioritising their welfare in all activities is a fundamental responsibility, including recording, investigating, and acting upon critical incidents and allegations.
Main duties of the job
As a qualified Social Worker currently registered with Social Work England, you will have a strong background in fostering and social work practice, evidencing a comprehensive understanding of the relevant legislations and regulations. Demonstrating your expertise in conducting initial assessments for potential foster carers, you will have experience of ensuring a robust and compliant evaluation process.
Providing expertise in handling legal proceedings, you will be able to provide examples where you have ensured the effective safeguarding of children, prioritising their welfare. Displaying leadership qualities with a proven track record in effectively managing a caseload of approved and registered foster carers, you will be able evidence experience of providing professional supervision to other Social Workers, fostering reflective practice.
