Main duties of the job

Tudor Gardens is a CQC registered Supported Living Service for adults with learning disabilities and is rated good. It is a service that is designed to support Brent Citizens in retaining their independence in their local communities. The service offers support for education, recreational activities as well involvement in local communities that reflect on individuals hobbies and interests. Tudor Gardens is part of Brent Direct Services. All of our direct services work together to create a cohesive campus approach, where users of each centre and Tudor Gardens home, make use of other direct service provision as appropriate.

The Post

Tudor Gardens is a CQC registered Supported Living Service for adults with learning disabilities and is rated good. It is a service that is designed to support Brent Citizens in retaining their independence in their local communities. The service offers support for education, recreational activities as well involvement in local communities that reflect on individuals hobbies and interests. Tudor Gardens is part of Brent Direct Services. All of our direct services work together to create a cohesive campus approach, where users of each centre and Tudor Gardens home, make use of other direct service provision as appropriate.

You will be responsible for the wellbeing of service users, giving adequate support to maximise their dignity, independence and privacy.The role also includes supporting individuals to access meaningful activities and develop social and life skills that will enable them to make choices and take control of their lives.

You must be prepared to supportservice usersin their chosen activities such as shopping or visiting leisure and entertainment facilities. Support will need to be given in areas such as daily living skills, personal care home washing, dressing, toileting, feeding, intimate personal care and administering medication.

You will be working closely withtheir families and other professionals to identify interests, wishes and a lifestyle that is tailored to each individual.

It is essentialto demonstrate that treating individuals with dignity and respect comes naturally and that you understand that our clients have a right to expect this.

Knowledge and experience ofsupporting people with learning disabilities and autism as well proven skills in and evaluating and monitoring service users progress is vital for this role. You will be responsible for promoting team work and possess excellent communication skills.

If you have the right values for our organisation, you will be supported by a programme of continuous training and development relevant to the role.
