Job summary

Main duties of the job

As an OT you will be visiting peoples homes, listening to what matters to them and making sure they are at the centre of everything you do. Youll use the highest professional and clinical skills to assess for and arrange equipment and adaptations. Youll explore safe ways of moving and handling and be able to communicate and develop plans well. Youll work with social work colleagues, Housing and Health partners, and equipment providers.

About us

We have four OccupationalTherapy Teams working with children, adults with learning disabilities, adults with disabilities and older people with a mix of qualified and non-OT qualified staff in each Team. We are committed to helping people live easily and safely in the place they call home. We want to use Occupational Therapy to deliver these changes. This role is specifically working within the Childrens Occupational Therapy Team.

Within this role youll be able to blend home/remote working with office-based working at on of our different office bases depending on which Team you are in (Merlyn Vaz Health and Social Care Centre, Beaumont Way Office or Jersey Road Housing Office). As a full-time member of staff, youll be expected to work 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Thursday and 8:30am to 4:30pm Friday. Part-time hours can be discussed at interview stage.

As a valued member of a busy team, youll have good time management skills and be able to prioritise between competing demands.

Due to the nature of this role, youll be subject to an Enhanced Adults and Childrens DBS. In addition, a Driving License is preferred however, if this isnt something you have, you must be willing and able to travel to visit people in their homes across the City.
