Job summary

We are looking for a Principal Occupational Therapist to join our Adult Social Care team to provide support on a fixed term contract for up to 3 months

Main duties of the job

This role will assist the Adult Social Care Senior Management Team to lead practice development within the teams and provide practice guidance to all Therapists across Adult Social Care and associated integrated professionals.

It will take a lead role in one or more specialist therapy areas for health and social care across the wider adult social care service promoting prevention, personalisation and integration with health.

  • Occupational Therapy qualification at degree level and current
  • HCPC social work registration.
  • Aptitude and intellectual curiosity for further study at postgraduate
  • level

Experience

Essential

  • Significant occupational therapy experience in community
  • settings working complex and/or specialist areas.
  • Highly skilled in occupational therapy with individuals, groups,
  • statutory agencies and communities
  • Experience of supervising, coaching or mentoring other
  • therapists and associated staff/professionals.
  • Post-qualification CPD in occupational therapy practice and/or
  • training and leading others
  • Excellent risk assessment and risk management skills
  • Ability to employ own knowledge, experience, practice skills,
  • networks and values to create a rich and inspirational learning
  • experience
  • Confidence in critically and constructively reflecting on others

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and policy, with the ability to
