Job summary
Are you a Newly Qualified Social Worker with a passion for Adults Social Work who is looking for a protected and supportive environment to start your career?
We have a fantastic opportunity for Newly Qualified Social Workers to join us and be part of a bespoke development programme whilst you complete your Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE).
In addition to the salary advertised, you will receive a market premium of £1,500 per annum. You will also receive a Golden Hello lump-sum payment of £1000 paid on successful completion of your probationary period.
Cohort start date: May 2025
Come and join us and well provide a framework of support to ensure your individual needs are met. Working full time, you will partake in an extensive training programme specifically selected to develop your skills, competencies and confidence.
Throughout your journey, you will be supported by your ASYE Supervisor, Senior Practitioners and Managers to manage a carefully selected caseload; to enable you to apply your learning and manage your progress in the areas of practice and development identified for you. During the ASYE programme, you will spend a proportion of your time on practice development while working on a protected caseload and receiving high quality supervision, support and case management.
Main duties of the job
As a Newly Qualified Social Worker (NQSW) you will develop the knowledge and skills within a learning, nurturing environment, resulting in the development of you as a confident, competent social worker with a robust value base.
Our programme will provide structure and support to ensure your individual learning needs are met. You will have a carefully selected caseload overseen by a ASYE Supervisor. This level of oversight and assistance will develop social workers for Buckinghamshire Council who can demonstrate excellence in practice.
Upon completion of your ASYE, you will have the opportunity to progress to a Qualified Social Worker position.
We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic candidate who has recently graduated and is keen to start their career at Buckinghamshire Council in the most positive way and stay with us to make a real difference to practice.

- Social work degree qualified and have your SWE registration
- Passionate about social work and having a genuine impact on the lives of residents in Buckinghamshire

Please note it is essential for this post that the successful candidate has a full UK driving licence and their own transport.
