Job summary
We are looking for two enthusiastic and resilient Commissioning Officers to work with us on an fixed term basis within the Integrated Commissioning Service.
The role involves supporting the Integrated Commissioning Service to deliver a high-quality care sourcing and purchasing function. The post holder will be responsible for purchasing individual packages of care at home or care home beds to support adults leaving hospital on behalf of the council and the Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and West Berkshire ICB formally known as the Clinical Commissioning Group. This will ensure residents with care and support needs have access to appropriate, high quality care which will also provide value for money for the Council and ICB.
In your role you will work in partnership with other areas of Integrated Commissioning, social work and health teams, Finance and representatives from the Care Quality Commission to improve Quality in the care market. You will also be involved in recommissioning activities.
We are looking for someone committed to helping us achieve improved resident and service user outcomes and value for money. You will need to have a positive outlook and enjoy working in a fast-paced, sometimes pressured but friendly environment.
Thisrole will include weekend working when required
Contract: Fixed term contract/secondment until 30th April 2024

- Communicating and negotiating with the supplier market to implement new contracts where there is an identified need and to ensure high quality care is provided at the best possible price for the Council and ICB.

- Reporting and managing any issues relating to suppliers, including any quality concerns.

- Maintaining accurate and succinct records throughout, including inputting provider information into the councils Contracts database.
- Following and implementing the Councils Provider Concerns and Suspensions Policy
- Responding to complaints regarding care and support providers
- Undertaking Quality Monitoring visits to providers and managing oversight of improvement plans
- Compiling detailed reports and responding to requests for information from senior managers within set deadlines
