Job summary

We have a team of Occupational Therapists who are part of the 7 day a week Active Recovery Model.

The Occupational Therapists are based across the 3 Recovery Hubs.People are discharged to the Recovery Hubs from hospital where they need further assessment and rehabilitation to determine their long term needs. The Occupational Therapists work on a 9 week rota pattern from 8am to 8pm over 7 days, working 1 in 3 weekends. The salary attracts a comprehensive rota and weekend working enhancement.

Main duties of the job

Due to internal promotion we are looking for an Occupational Therapist who must display strong assessment skills with a personalised approach, who can carry out Occupational Therapy assessments of people with a range of needs, to develop, implement and manage planned recommendations.They will also have the ability to innovate and problem solve with the ability to identify appropriate Occupational Therapy interventions in order to promote positive change. The Occupational Therapists take the lead in discharges for those people who are returning to their own home and work closely with LCC Social Workers, LCH Physiotherapists, Nurses and Geriatricians.Occupational Therapists will also need to bring skills in moving and handling, both including in risk assessment and in identifying solutions to reduce risk which consider the needs and personal outcomes of disabled people and their families.
