Named Nurse Children in Care and Safeguarding

Job summary

In light of the upcoming retirement of the current post holder we are looking to recruit a new Named Nurse Children in Care and Safeguarding for the Healthy Child Service in the City of York. This is a key post in ensuring that the HCS fulfils its statutory and regulatory obligations in relation to children in the city. You will be responsible for ensuring there are appropriate arrangements in place for advice, support safeguarding supervision and training as well quality assurance processes in place for both Children in Care and Children at risk of abuse or neglect.

Main duties of the job

This opportunity arises at a key moment in the development of interagency safeguarding practice nationally and locally with the development of the Families First Partnership, which will see developments in the roles and working arrangements of the Safeguarding Childrens Nurses you will lead. This post provides a key opportunity to shape and influence safeguarding practice from early intervention to children in our care in the City of York ensuring children and childrens voices are at the centre of all we do.

Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
