City of
York Council is offering an exciting opportunity to join our developing 0-19
Healthy Child Service. We are looking for a high quality, innovative and
forward-looking registered nurse with a minimum of 2 years post registration
experience with a passion for delivering good outcomes for children and young
people, by contributing to the newly established

If you

The
Asthma Friendly Schools project works to make schools a safer place for
children and young people (CYP) with asthma, increase self-awareness of asthma
for CYP, parents, and staff, and decrease stigmatisation. The Asthma Friendly
Schools initiative forms part of the National Bundle of Care for Children and
Young People with Asthma. It aims to improve outcomes for children with asthma,
reduce hospital admissions, reduce the number of preventable deaths associated
with asthma in children and improve overall quality of life.

will be part of the York City Council Healthy Child Service whilst working
collaboratively with the Children and Young People's Asthma Team within the
Humber and North Yorkshire ICB.
York is a
great place to live and work. On almost every indicator, health, wellbeing and
happiness in York is well above the national average. We know that isn't the
case for everybody though and that is where the Healthy Child Service comes in.
The successful candidates will join the Healthy Child Service within Public
Health. The Healthy Child Service works alongside early help services, housing,
adult services, the police, the voluntary and community sectors, the wider
health economy and of course families and communities themselves.
About us
City of York Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the
welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all
employees and volunteers to share this commitment. We require the successful
candidate to undertake an enhanced Criminal Record check
via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
The post-holder will have access to secure
government sites or email. In order to use these systems, the Cabinet Office
requires the HR Team to carry out Baseline Personnel Standard Security (BPSS)
checks.

on City of York Councils terms and conditions.
The Council is highly committed to investing in
the talent and wellbeing of our staff and can offer a generous annual leave
allowance, access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, comprehensive Health
