Job summary

We are looking for dedicated individuals to join our team at Willow Gardens, an Extra Care facility where we provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to individuals living in their own homes. With 90 self-contained flats, Willow Gardens is not just a care facility it's a vibrant community where we also foster social opportunities and community engagement.

Hours: 20 Hours Per Week.

Main duties of the job

Main Duties of the Role:

As a Care and Support Worker at Willow Gardens, your primary responsibility will be to provide compassionate and person-centred care to residents, ensuring their daily needs are met with dignity and respect. Youll assist with personal care tasks, administer medication, and support individuals in their daily routines, helping them maintain their independence. Additionally, you'll work collaboratively with a dedicated team to create a safe and welcoming environment, while also promoting social engagement within the community. Flexibility in your schedule is essential, as you'll be part of a rolling rota that includes weekends and Bank Holidays.

Your current duties and responsibilities are:-

  1. Fostering Individuals rights and responsibilities. Promoting Equality of Individuals. Maintaining Confidentiality of Information.
  2. Promote effective communication and relationships, develop relationships with individuals that value them as individuals and promotes independence. Establish effective communication.
  3. Promote monitor and maintain safety and security in the work place. Monitor and Maintain the safety and security of the work environment, promote standards of Health and Safety in the working environment.
  4. Contribute to minimising the level of abuse in care environments. Minimise the effects of abusive behaviour. Contribute to monitoring individuals who are at risk.
  5. Enable Service Users to maintain their personal hygiene and appearance.
  6. Support Service Users in personal grooming and dressing.
  7. Help Service Users to get ready for eating and drinking.
  8. Help Service Users to consume food and drink.
  9. Prepare individuals and environments for moving and handling.
  10. Assist individuals to move from one position to another.
  11. Assist individuals to prevent and minimise the adverse effects of pressure.
  12. To participate in the operation of the Councils Appraisal Scheme.
  13. Championing and executing an open culture of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) throughout the council which reflects the councils policy, values and behaviours.
  14. Such other duties as may be appropriate to achieve the objectives of the post to assist the Service Area in the fulfilment of its objectives commensurate with the post holder's salary grade, abilities and aptitudes.
