This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Public Health professional to lead on shaping our sexual health services as we work towards recommissioning our service within the next 12 months. You will be joining a dynamic and vibrant team working on high profile programmes, with the shared commitment to improving the health and well-being of our communities.

Your workload will be challenging and complex, with an array of factors to consider as you develop and implement strategies across the service. We need you to be a self-starter and enthusiastic in your delivery, inspiring our team of professionals with your focus and working knowledge.

By becoming part of the Public Health and Wellbeing Service within Lancashire County Council you will be contributing towards making a massive difference to combating health inequalities in the community.

Main duties of the job

Passionyou'll be passionate about sexual health services with pre-existing knowledge in the field, you'll have experience of service re-design and be keen to develop and improve upon current practices. You'll be working with a hugely supportive sexual health system aiming to revamp current pathways making services more accessible within Lancashire we want you to be well versed in working within a partnership environment, ideally with a history of collaboration with local government and NHS you will be approachable and forthcoming when liaising with our partners and key services taking advantage of your excellent communication skills this is a commissioning based role which will require you to deal with funding and making sure we are utilising our resources in the most effective way.

Challengeyou will be faced with a variety of challenges within your new role, however your previous experience will allow you to navigate these areas with ease it is crucial that you are able to deal with complex topics remaining professional and poised during difficult conversations there will be some subjects of discussion that are delicate in nature, concerning intimate details of sexual health challenges requiring a sensitive yet robust approach you will be an articulate individual with an excellent understanding of clinical services and gender politics, being able to assess key areas requiring change as part of the re-design of the service.

  • Significant experience at senior management level, redesigning, commissioning, and managing large complex public health and/or wellbeing operations/functions/services
  • Extensive experience as a practitioner/manager and ability to lead with a strategic vision and understanding of the political backdrop and budgetary constraints.
