We have a great opportunity to join our Spelthorne Locality team as an Occupational Therapist. We are looking for individuals who share our values and are motivated to make a significant and positive difference to the lives of our residents. We support hybrid working with the right balance, with a mixture of working in the office and from home, aiming for full time staff to be in the office twice a week and part time staff once a week.

Main duties of the job

Using a strengths-based approach, you will work alongside a variety of clients who have differing and/or complex needs. Clients will be adults and may be elderly and frail, experience a learning disability, physical or sensory impairment, or have mental ill health. This diverse role will facilitate your development and equip you with a large range of skills to enable you to undertake frontline holistic occupational therapy practice within a social care setting. You will have the opportunity to put into practice assessments such as the moving and handling risk assessments and intervention, with the aim of supporting and empowering our clients to live meaningful lives within the community. Joining us you will work closely with your team members, as well as with other organisations and agencies, to provide an integrated service to support vulnerable adults and their carers in a community-based setting.

This role has a starting salary of £42,239 per annum, based on a 36-hour working week. This is a full-time position, but part-time applications are also welcomed. We have a great opportunity to join our Spelthorne Locality team as an Occupational Therapist. We are looking for individuals who share our values and are motivated to make a significant and positive difference to the lives of our residents. We also provide full moving and handling training, as well as access to our equipment store. We offer regular supervision to all our staff every month, plus we provide informal support from the wider team. The value of occupational therapists is well recognised within our team, which enables us to fully utilise our skills and strengths to achieve positive outcomes, focussing on what is important to the individuals we work with. Our Occupational Therapists have told us that career development is of huge importance to them. One step we have taken to help address this is to develop a 'Senior Readiness Program'. This program is designed to support Occupational Therapists to develop their skills and experience so that they can progress to become Senior Occupational Therapists.   • Professional qualification in Occupational Therapy and current registration with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Experience of working within a social care, health or community-focused multi-disciplinary setting
  • Ability to complete person-centred and proportionate OT assessments
  • Familiarity with moving and handling equipment such as hoists and stand aids
  • Knowledge of medical conditions and the likely impact on the individual, carer and family
