The starting salary for this position is £61,047 per annum (NHS Band 8a) for 36 hours per week, across 52 weeks per year.

Surrey County Council's Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) Service is excited to invite dedicated professionals to apply for a new Clinical Lead opportunity. You will have the flexibility to be based at any of our offices: Woking, Reigate or Weybridge, although you will need to be able to travel across all sites when required to meet with colleagues and attend meetings.

Main duties of the job

We are searching for an enthusiastic leader who is motivated by the opportunity to enhance our evidence-based service, ensuring positive outcomes for children and young people in Surrey.

As Clinical Lead, you will:

  • Collaborate with the Service Manager and Area Leads to shape strategic directions
  • Lead and support clinical groups in developing evidence-based pathways
  • Oversee projects, research and tribunal portfolios
  • Contribute to induction processes and support newly qualified therapists
  • Handle complex clinical cases and provide operational support
  • Guide clinical development and service needs across all quadrants
  • Foster partnerships across Surrey County Council and Surrey ICB

The School-Aged Speech and Language Therapy Service is a vital part of Surrey County Council's local SEND offer. We collaborate within the Inclusion and Additional Needs team, working closely with educational psychology and specialist teaching teams to provide integrated support.

Our mission is to deliver tailored assessments and interventions; empowering families and professionals with the skills to support children with Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN). Using the Balance Model, we offer universal, targeted and specialist support across Surrey's four geographical quadrants, each managed by an Area Lead with a skilled team of therapists and assistants.

  • HCPC and RCSLT registration
  • Surrey has both urban and rural areas and Therapists will be expected to have a valid driving licence to drive in the UK, access to a vehicle and be willing to travel across a wide geographical area. Reasonable adjustments where needed will be made for successful applicants who have a disability or long term health condition to enable them to fulfil the requirements of the job.
