Oxfordshire County Council has fantastic opportunities for enthusiastic Social Workers to join our fast-paced and dynamic service within Adult Social Care working in the South locality, based at Abbey House in Abingdon.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a Social Workers to join our dynamic team who are keen to work collaboratively across Adult Social Care, Health and other partner agencies to achieve great changes in our community. We are proud to support our residents through a strength-based approach that creates opportunities, builds resilience and develops long-term support networks so that people we support can live their lives as successfully, independently and as safely as possible.

You will hold a professional qualification and be registered with Social Work England. Since the team is looking to recruit into several vacancies, we are encouraging applicants of different levels of experience. Support is provided for newly qualified Social Workers through our nationally recognised programme, while experienced staff members can take advantage of extensive CPD activities that are available through our learning platforms. We also offer a career progression scheme.

In line with County Council policy, we offer a relocation package up to a maximum of £8,000 to cover reimbursement of expenses for newly appointed employees who need to move home to take a job with Oxfordshire County Council (conditions apply).

About us

The South Adult Social Care team works with the most vulnerable adults across the South of Oxfordshire providing support for people to live their most fulfilling lives. We do this by working creatively and efficiently, utilising community resources and working in collaboration with our Health colleagues and other partner agencies, whilst ensuring people are always the heart their own decision making. We proactively encourage people to maximise their independence and safety to live well within their community.

The team is made up of Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and Coordinators who work together to provide the right support to people when they need it most. We are currently looking for Social Workers to join our friendly team who are motivated and share Oxfordshire County Councils values of daring to do things differently, always learning, be kind and caring, value difference in others and take responsibility for actively contributing to delivering the best for all.
