Oxfordshire County Council has fantastic opportunities for enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapists to join our fast-paced and dynamic service within Adult Social Care working in the South locality, based at Abbey House in Abingdon.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for providing Occupational Therapy services in the South Oxfordshire community to adults, their families and carers in line with the requirements of the Care Act 2014 and any other legislation and guidance as may be relevant including the HCPC codes of practice. You will use a strength-based approach to create opportunities, build resilience so that people live their lives as independently as possible. The range of experience you will gain is vast. You can for example use your skills to work with people who have a neurological condition, autism, learning disability or mental health issues.

You will receive supervision, support and training opportunities to ensure you have the skills required. We have a career progression programme, and actively encourage opportunities to enhance your skills. Opportunities for job swaps, rotation or secondments are available for example working with our Home First team, Housing or health partners.

The South Adult Social Care team works with the most vulnerable adults across the South of Oxfordshire providing support for people to live their most fulfilling lives. We do this by working creatively and efficiently, utilising community resources and working in collaboration with our Health and Housing colleagues, whilst ensuring people are always the heart their own decision making. We proactively encourage people to maximise their independence and safety to live well within their community.

The team is made up of Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Coordinators who work together to provide the right support to people when they need it most. We are currently looking for Occupational Therapists to join our friendly team who are motivated and share Oxfordshire County Councils values of daring to do things differently, always learning, be kind and caring, value difference in others and take responsibility for actively contributing to delivering the best for all.
