Do you have hands-on experience supporting children or young people, ideally within assisted or supported accommodation? If so, join us as a Young Peoples Supported Accommodation Support Worker! The Young Persons Supported Accommodation Service is part of Oxfordshire County Councils in-house provision, dedicated to helping young people aged 1618 who are in the care of the local authority. Youll join a welcoming, experienced team at an exciting time as we register under the new Ofsted supported housing regulations.
Main duties of the job
As a Support Worker, youll provide intensive, person-centred support to young people as they prepare for independent living. Working across our two sites (Abingdon Foyer and Matthew Wigglesworth House) and our community shared housing, youll play a vital role in creating safe, nurturing environments and delivering tailored interventions that help young people build life skills, resilience, and confidence. Youll work a flexible shift pattern, including days, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, ensuring our young people have the support they need, whenever they need it.
About us
ere looking for a motivated and compassionate individual with: Proven experience working with children or young people - ideally in a supported accommodation or similar setting. The ability to build trusting relationships, manage challenging behaviours, and support young people through trauma and transition. A commitment to safeguarding, equality, and helping young people achieve their best possible outcomes. Flexibility to work shifts and travel between sites as needed.
