ATV Anchor Therapeutic Social Worker

Job summary

One year in, we are looking for a new therapeutic social worker to join our dynamic team, alongside Clinical Psychology, Occupational Therapy and Educational psychology colleagues. We believe in the importance of offering high quality, multi-disciplinary therapeutic support to some of our most vulnerable families, families whose needs are often not understood within the context of other agencies. We have built a team, rooted in an understanding of developmental trauma, with a strong relational ethos and a commitment to improving the knowledge and skills of all those working with adoptive families across the region. At the core of the work we offer is the application of a range of therapeutic interventions delivered within an attachment lens including, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, Video Interaction Guidance, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Non-Violent Resistance. We want individuals who are dedicated to understanding the needs of adoptive families, committed to building a team to meet these needs, able to engage and work alongside partner organisations and those with lived experience. Contract Type Fixed term until 31/3/2027 with the aim of becoming a permanent position.

Main duties of the job

Do you have you a background in social work, and the delivery of attachment informed therapeutic interventions e.g. Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy. This role calls for an individual with big ideas, strong communication skills, and one who values partnership working. It offers the opportunity to play a strategic role in the life of a new service, developing your own knowledge and skills alongside this. This post provides the opportunity to be part of a creative, supportive and innovative team which is committed to providing holistic, preventative, multi-disciplinary support to adoptive and special guardianship families and to supporting the systems around them. You will have access to a strong support and supervision network and opportunities for training and development.
