The service sits in Childrens Social Care, offering meaningful time with family for children removed from the care of their parents by the Court, due to safeguarding concerns. Family time is a deeply complex experience for children who have experienced trauma in their lives; we work to support and maintain relationships with birth family, supporting children to retain their sense of family history and identity and to create positive memories whether they are able to return to the care of their parents or not. Our work takes place primarily within dedicated venues near to where children live with their foster carers. When the level of potential risk faced by the child has reduced sufficiently some Family Time sessions may move and take place within the community.
