Job summary
An opportunity has arisen to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated, and values-driven, Systemic Family Psychotherapist to our innovative under 18 CHRIS Team (Co-ordinated Help and Risk Intervention Service). You will have experience working with young people and families experiencing traumatic and self-destructive behaviours.
CHRIS is a new innovative psychosocial, multidisciplinary service run by Suffolk County Council. The Multi-disciplinary team is highly committed and passionate about supporting young people, their families, and professional networks at times of emotional crisis at risk of self-harm or suicide.
CHRIS offers system-wide intensive Risk Based Psychosocial interventions to children and young people living in East and West Suffolk as part of the local Mental Health Crisis response pathway
This service takes a systems approach and works to support the effectiveness of existing services that are currently working with children and young people.
Main duties of the job
You will work with; an established experienced Systemic Psychotherapist, Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Clinical alongside social Workers, Mental Health Nurses, Practice Managers, and Outreach Practitioners to embed our vision of making a difference to children, young people and families in times of crisis, and developing an environment which inspires colleagues to deliver the highest standards of evidence-based practice and care.
You will carry a small intensive clinical caseload, be part of a systemic clinic and offer systemic thinking as part of the MDT. You will also offer consultation to professionals in young peoples wider professional systems and will be offered regular systemic supervision.
Some of the main duties will include:
- clinical supervision of appropriate colleagues
- providing specialist systemic psychotherapy input within multi-disciplinary reviews
- providing specialist advice and consultation regarding formulations, intervention and risk management to the multi-disciplinary team as required.

- have excellent communication skills, and the ability to work flexibly and creatively in conjunction with children, young people, families, team members, other professionals and key stakeholders
- demonstrate flexibility, and a commitment to new ways of working, including supporting children and young people directly in their homes and community settings; as well as providing indirect support to existing networks through consultation and advice
