Your role and responsibilities
As one of the strategic health leads, you will:
- be accountable and responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of health services provided within Suffolk County Council (SCC) Children and Young People Services (CYP).
- be responsible for strategic leadership, operational and clinical management of specific clinical teams
You will need to
- be a registered nurse with current registration with the NMC with no restrictions on practice
- have significant senior management experience of leading health services within the NHS, Private Sector or Local Authority
- hold additional post graduate qualifications at degree or diploma level
- hold a level four safeguarding qualification.
Main duties of the job
Day to day tasks may include:
Provide strategic, clinical and operational leadership for Children and Family health services, ensuring effective and safe delivery of integrated services.
To lead, develop and manage the quality and clinical governance requirements within SCCCYPS and contribute to any annual health check requirements for the continued compliance with Care Quality Commission Regulations.
To contribute to the requirement that the health services across SCCCYPS are delivered efficiently and effectively within the given resources.
To ensure client pathways are developed and improved across all agencies.
To provide expert clinical advice on policy and strategic development within SCCCYPS.
To promote organisational change which can be highly complex, sensitive and/or contentious.
To contribute to the development, modernisation and transformation of the services by working with NHS Suffolk and partner organisations, the voluntary sector and user groups.
To oversee the design and implementation of governance structures including chairing any groups relating to quality and governance as appropriate.
Monitoring the execution of agreed policies and plans and achievement of standards within the overall financial viability.
Contribute to budget setting for the designated area and monitoring spend.
Support the development and implementation of Service Level Agreements with other providers and commissioners to design new pathways and services as appropriate.
