Job summary
Warwickshire Public Health, part of the county council, is looking for an organised and enthusiastic person with a strong track record in managing projects that contribute to improving and protecting population health and wellbeing and reducing inequalities.
If the answer to these is yes, we would love to hear from you.
Following the pandemic period, we have reset our priorities and are looking to influence a wider range of services and partner organisations. Our staff are visible both online and in our office space at Shire Hall, Warwick.
We are offering a fulltime (37 hours per week) Public Health Principal role to support the Public Health Consultant and wider team in delivering activity across a broad range of priority areas. Further details will be shared with the successful candidate on appointment, but the portfolio is likely to include elements of Children and Young Peoples Health and Mental Health, alongside other emerging public health priorities.
Main duties of the job
Our priorities do change over time, along with our workloads. As such, there are opportunities to get involved in other aspects of Public Health work, and to collaborate with team colleagues as well as people in other services and our communities. We support in-house learning and development and are committed to developing our staff to become high-performing public health practitioners.
Public Health Principals are very important members of the core public health team and service. The successful candidate will be a first point of contact for advice; a skilled partner and networker with the ability to engage with a wide range of people; adept at contributing to the development and implementation of public health work programmes; comfortable with collecting evidence, analysing and interpreting data, and producing reports with recommendations; an advocate of public health approaches, prevention and the reduction of health inequalities.
