We are looking for a registered Social Worker, with up-to-date knowledge of key child care legislation, guidance, and best practices relating to the protection and support of children and young people. Experience in completing assessments, reports, and plans for children identified as vulnerable or in need alongside a full driving licence will be essential.

Main duties of the job
The primary responsibility of this role is to act as the lead worker with case responsibility for children in need, children requiring protection, and children who are looked after, in line with the function of the dedicated team. The role involves ensuring the effective interpretation and implementation of statutory duties, departmental policies, and procedures in delivering services to children and young people.
Key responsibilities include:
Case Management: Accepting work allocated by the team manager or their delegate based on eligibility criteria and maintaining full case management responsibility.
Assessment and Enquiries: Conducting timely enquiries and assessments of the needs and risks affecting vulnerable children and young people, while considering their wishes and those of their families. This includes completing Section 47 enquiries, single assessments, and engaging service users in appropriate settings such as homes, schools, or hospitals.
Risk Management: Taking appropriate actions to assess and reduce identified risks in accordance with statutory frameworks, child protection procedures, and legislation for looked-after children.
Planning and Intervention: Developing and implementing plans with children, young people, and their families/carers to address identified issues, ensuring active participation and limiting social work intervention to what is necessary.
